I got to play bunny nurse yesterday. A couple of Bella's babies got a little sick. I think that what happened is they got diarrhea when they started eating food and then their bottoms got all messy and plugged up and then they were constipated and .... yuck. So, I ended up taking them in and giving them each a bath yesterday. I was really nervous because I read once that a bunny started going into shock after getting a bath... I don't know if that really happens or not, but I was nervous just the same. So I only put the part that needed to be washed into some warm water and washed them up with plastic gloves on. ;) It was not the funnest (I know that's not a word) job ever, but they seemed very happy to get all that yuck stuff off, so I was happy too. =) I wrapped them up in a towel and dried them off and then put them in the entryway in a pet carrier with a little heater, which they loved. I brought them back last night, though, because I didn't want them to miss out on Bella feeding them. The only thing I'm watching now is their eyes seem a little runny. I don't know what's up.... the other one seems fine. But I think they are going to be OK with a little TLC. :) Hopefully they will be back to normal in a week or so, I'll keep you updated. :) If anyone has some tips on anything I should be watching for/or giving them, let me know! :)

Awe.:-( Sorry to hear the babies aren't doing well. Are you still letting them nurse from mom? I would take away all greens and give lots of grass hay. One breeder I know only gives old fashioned oats at this age but I would mix half and half. Half oats/half pellets. Oats are much easier for them to digest and has a high amount of calories. Lots of hay is key though. If the others are growing and doing just fine and its just these two that are having problems, then it could be that they are 'faders'. I have only had one fader before and he was like any other normal kit until he was about 3-4 weeks and just seemed to stop growing. Hopefully that is not the case with yours though and just a simple problem of adjusting to solid food.
Awww, thanks so much Lindsey. Yep, I'm still letting them nurse from mom, as that is the best food for them. :) OK, thanks for the food tips, I'll do that! I have been giving them a few oats, but I'll do half and half. That is interesting about the faders... I have noticed that they are both quite a bit smaller than the other one... not like tiny, but ya, they don't seem to be growing as much. But it also could be that he's just a bigger baby... he's a pretty chubby lil' guy. :) But like you said hopefully that's not the case! =) I'll do your suggestions, THANKSSSS! =) I'll keep ya updated. :)
