Selling Out

For the last few months I've been re-evaluating my rabbitry and everything and have come to the conclusion that I need to sell out of my bunnies right now.  For the season of life I am in right now, I just do not have the time anymore to devote to taking care of the bunnies.  Raising rabbits is a commitment, and right now there are other things that are far more important to me than bunnies.  I'm working on finishing up high school, which takes a lot of time, and also our family is now raising Great Pyrenees guard dogs, (housmanfarms.com)  and I will be more involved in that family business....and I don't have time for two businesses right now!  I would love to possibly get back into this hobby in the future, but for now it's just not going to work.

I've really, REALLY enjoyed my 2 years with these bunnies!  They have been a great success and are a wonderful hobby.  I love them to pieces!  And I've met so many great people and made so many wonderful friends....I'm so grateful for all of you!  But I know I only have these teenage years at home for so long and I want to spend them with my wonderful family. :)

I will be keeping Mickey, though, as a pet....he's my baby and I couldn't part with him!  :)

Visit my website to see a list of what I'm selling and contact me if you're interested or have any questions!

Pictures and Updates

Hi!  This is Emily, I actually write on this blog....sometimes. :)   I know, posts have been few and far between lately.  Life has been busy.  I'm hoping to be adding a couple new litters to my busy-ness in the next few days.  Lily is 31 days as of today, and I'm just praying she won't have babies overnight when I'm not there to check on her, especially with the below zero temps. :(  Fingers crossed. And Dolly will be 30 days tomorrow, so I'll be expecting her babies, hopefully, in a couple days.  (She tends to go 32 days).

Some bunny pictures!

My two ladies due: Dolly on the right, Lily on the left.
Dolly on top of her castle...err...nest box.
Lily's *perfectly arranged* nest....looks amazing for a first timer!  :D  She spent a long time making it, and nearly buried herself in the process. :)

Veronica, who should have her own nest to brag about in about 30 days. :)

And now......ta da......PUPPY PICTURES! =D

All *11* pups snoozin' together.

Awwww....sweet face!  <3
Taking a cat....errr....dog nap. :)
Love this little girl!
Miss Cutie Pie again :)

They are learning to walk!  (Walk, walk, roll, walk, tumble, walk, walk....)
SO CUTE!
LOL Gotta love those little tails waddling around. =)
<3
Saying hello
Cuteness :)
A little blury, but still oh-soooo-cute! :)
That's in my hand....and arm....they are getting huge!
Fat lil' chunk.  :)
*yawn*
This one reminds me of her Daddy.  :)
Follow the leader?
Whenever Princess (momma) comes in from her outside time, allllll the pups start howling for her
and attempting to get out of their box.  It's hilarious!  You should hear their howls, barks, yelps, squeaks.....LOL
"Mooooooommmmmmmmm!"
*howl*growl*yelp*squeak*barrrkkkkk*
LOL Such cuties!

***Update on Lily***
Lily kindled three banded babies this morning, but....due to the cold, and that the kits were VERY large (the one was 4 inches long...HUGE) none survived.  :-(  So bummed...and discouraged, it seems like it's been forever since I've had a live litter.  MN winters and bunnies just don't seem to be a great combo.  :-(  *sigh*
I'm glad Lily is OK, though.  The poor girl really had a tough time getting the one especially huge kit out....I was worried I would lose her, the baby was bruised and not looking to great (and not alive of course) when she finally go it out.  She really did a wonderful job, though,  and if it wasn't for the cold I know this lady would have been, and still is going to be a wonderful mom.  Pulled a nice fur nest and everything.  Such a bummer....next time... maybe.  :(

Nestboxes & Breeding

Sorry, I never did do a picture post....I don't know why, Blogger just won't let me (or my mom on her blog either!) upload pictures.  So I will just have to be picture-less for now.....lol.  Oh well!  Lily got her nest box yesterday, and Dolly will get her nest box tomorrow.  So hopefully all goes well for these two ladies.  It would be nice if this warm spell (upper 30s!) holds out for them.  And Trixi got re bred yesterday, and Veronica, another first timer mom, got bred today.  Princess is the only on left...hopefully tomorrow. :)
Looking forward to babies!

Just to let you know.....

.....I'm still here.  ;-)  I know I haven't been posting much, but there really just hasn't been much to post about!  Not about rabbits, anyways.  Things are pretty stagnant in the rabbitry right now (boo-hoo!) since both my mommas that should have had babies right now, didn't.  But, I'm hoping to get Princess re-bred now that she's stabilized after the miscarriage, Trixi bred, and Veronica bred, THIS week.  And hopefully have that baby boom!  Right now I'm waiting on Dolly and Lily, who are due mid-month.  All these babies will (potentially) be ready around Easter time!  Can't wait. :)

Other than rabbits...which hasn't been much at all!......I've been busy getting back into my after-holiday-break routine. ;-)  Nose to the grindstone in school (my head is still aching from three lessons of maaaaaathhhhhhh today! blah....not my favorite.) and just getting back on schedule has been busy.  We've also been playing lots of hockey, and of course.....those darling puppies are just getting darling-er, evvvery day. :-)

A few pics to share.....

Ahhh, actually not.  '__'  The internet is ridiculously slow today, so maybe we'll have a picture post....tomorrow!  :D

Thanks for reading! :)
