Bye!

This will be my last post on this blog - after this I'll be turning it into a blog book (so I still have all those posts!) and deleting it.  I had a great 2+ years raising bunnies!  I don't at all regret it, it was an awesome learning experience and a lot of fun. ;-)  It's just time to move on now.  Thank you SOOOOOO much to all of you who helped me out!  Many thanks to Debbie (Hidden Habit Rabbitry) who got me started with great stock, and spent hours on the phone answering my (MANY) questions!  Couldn't have done it without you!  A big thank you to Lindsey (4 Kings Rabbitry) ... I have SO many emails chuck-full of rabbit wisdom from her!  I really don't know that I could have made my rabbits "work" without her advice!  She was SO awesome!  Thank you sooooo much, Lindsey!!!  And there's many other "bunny friends"...you know who you are...who helped me a ton...thank you VERY MUCH!  You all made my rabbitry a success and are so appreciated!  Also, thanks to my family....you guys put up with a lot from me and my bunnies. :-)  Rejoicing with me over a new litter and crying with me when I lost one....you stuck with me through thick'n'thin. ;-)  THANK YOU for giving me this great opportunity and helping me!  There is NO WAY I could have ever had rabbits with out my parent's support!!!!  I love you all! :)
As I said before, I am super glad I spent a few years raising rabbits!  What an awesome experience and I learned so much.  From showing, to raising and caring for rabbits, to business skills, it was full of learning.  And of course, a BIG thank you to all of you who bought a bunny from Emily's Hoppin' Hotot's!  I would like to end my last post with an email I got this week that MADE MY DAY.  This is from a bunny customer, who gave Snow Flake a fabulous home!  Thank you, Pa!!!!

Hi Emily,

It's been awhile since I contacted you and I noticed that you're not selling bunnies anymore. :( But I just wanted to update you on Snow. She is doing very well and I love her sooo much. I just had to share these photos with you. She is so sweet and cute! She loves sitting next to me on the couch, takes over my chair when I leave my desk, lays on my side of the bed, and lays underneath me while I study. The last photo is just for laughter lols. My husband decided to play a bunny clip on YouTube of dwarf hotot bunnies and she actually watched the whole thing lying like that. She is the sweetest little thing and sometimes I think she's part dog! hahah, I'm so glad I got her. :)

Happy ending!  As ya'll know, I'm keeping Mickey as a pet.  He now has two big cages all to himself and is SPOILED, I must say.  :)  I'm enjoying having my pet Hotot around.

My favorite picture of me and my baby, Mickey :)  (Who will celebrate his 2nd birthday in a few weeks! :)

And as you know, I am now helping run our family dog business!  So, I'll end with this picture of our latest addition to our breeding program, Beauty.  :)  Come see what I'm up to at Housman PyrsHousman Farms,  or A Farm Girl's Journal!!!  :)  Would love to hear from you any time!

Thanks again everyone for all your support.  Bye!!! :) :) :)

My New Setup!

Here it is!  I finally finished getting everything cleaned out and set up on Sunday.  All the rabbits are sold except for three: Mickey, Lily and LuLu.  Mickey is staying, of course, LuLu will be going to her new home this week (she's in a big pet carrier temporarily) and Lily will be staying a couple more months. I'm going to breed her to Mickey for one more litter.  Since her first litter didn't go so well,  I want to be sure she is fine before selling her.  I bought Mickey a nice cage and pan, and already had one other portable cage/pan for Lily. So they are all set up in the corner of the rabbitry.  :-)  Someone is coming to look at/potentially buy my stand and cages tomorrow!  I think I will probably keep blogging until Lily has her litter, then I will shut it down.  (I probably won't be blogging much, though!)  We do have a farm blog if any of my readers want to keep in touch and I do post on it occasionally.  http://housmanfarms.blogspot.com
Here is a really terrible picture of my set up.  I took it this morning when it was still dark out so the lighting is pretty awful!  Will post better pictures soon.  :-)

"Wrapping Up"

Well, things are "wrapping up" as far as selling out goes.  I only have the three babies left to sell!!!  =0  Everyone else has gone to their wonderful new homes.  I'm grateful to have found great homes for all my babies!  Veronica and Princess went home yesterday:

Maggie .... such a cutie!  She poses perfectly.  <3  Love!

Cody ... darling little guy.

LuLu ... gets the award for the Worst Poser of the Litter.  Not cooperative!  Always wanted to pose upright.  But still such a cutie.   My POL.  <3

Babies & Selling Out

The days are getting warmer around here, so the babies - 4 weeks old now - are out in the pen during the day with momma.  They are enjoying all the room!

Things are coming together for selling out of the bunnies.  I only have seven left - not including Mickey, of course - and they will all be going to homes by the end of this month.  I also will be selling all the cages, and it looks like I have a buyer for those.  Part of me is sad at parting with my little furry friends ;-) but I'm also super excited to be moving on to other things now.  And besides...how can you be sad when you have this little face around!?!?  I love Mickey!  :-)  He will be one spoiled pet.  <3

I'm glad he'll be going to a great home with a new breeder!

Baby Pictures! ~ 2 1/2 Weeks

I've been so busy with puppies lately I haven't had much time to take pictures or post pictures of the babies.  I finally got around to it on Thursday, so here they are!  There are two does and a buck.  They are 3 weeks old today!  Just a*d*o*r*a*b*l*e.  <3  Today they are running around with momma in her cage for the first time.  :-)

Doe #1 - "Maggie"

She's the biggest one in the litter, but such a cutie!!!

Doe #2 - "LuLu"  My favorite!!!  So cute, love her little head and ears.  :-)

And the little Mr. Cody....smallest and typiest in the litter....actually he might be my favorite....can't decide, I love 'em all!  :-)
(He wasn't the best poser, though).

Have a great weekend everyone!
